Not sure if I missed this somewhere but do the players start with any action cards?

Although if you use Simulated Early Turns, you do draw an action card in that first abbreviated Status Phase before the game properly begins.

Although it really doesn't hurt anything if you would like to start with one. I like doing that.

My group typically starts with 1 or 2 action cards each just to get the game moving along.

Which would you prefer to start with:

1 Action Card,
2 Trade Goods,
1 Extra Command Counter?

Definitely not AC, too random. Could make a good case for the extra TGs as well.

If you are playing with the Distant Sun Domain Markers from SE, two trade goods at start are almost a necessity.

I wouldn't be surprised if this was at least part of the reason for the "spend PCs as TGs" rule added to the SE rules when using Assembly.

We've started with 1 AC since we started playing the game. It's good fun.

That's weird. We have always started with two AC in every game. How did we get it into our heads that that was a rule?
