I am a fan of dungeon style games and have tried most of them over the years. A lot do leave you wanting more or feel over repetitive, however Decent 2nd Edition has taken this type of game to another level, removing loads of unnecessary bits and making it look sooo good.

It has now replaced Warhammer Quest and Hybrid (ok not a pure dungeon quest game but has similarities and great tiles) as my favourite of this genre. However i will still be keeping these two games too. Alas Legend of Drizzt will go to make space.

I have only ever painted up 2 games, Warhammer Quest and Hybrid and after a good few years break from this, Descent was good enough for me to see if i could still paint (note i was never brilliant, but the models looked good enough to play with). So over the next few weeks i will post some shots on the boardgame section of my website as i complete the monsters first (if anyone is interested of course). I will probably have to collect the expansions for this game like i did with Warhammer Quest.

All the monsters are now complete, now starting on the heroes. The smaller models are harder, my eyes are not as good as they once were !

Once you paint them up you realise how good these models are. FF did a good job on these. Also i think the choices for the box set were well thought out with a range of usable elements of goblin, hounds, undead, giant, water creature, magic user, elemental, spiders and of course dragon.

Here come the Ettins ...
