Hey all,

I am fairly new to the Maryland region, having just moved here a few months ago. I live in the Severn MD area. I know there are a few good stores around me.

I have a friend who lives in Alexandria, VA and we both like to play Warhammer 40k / Warmachine and such. However, it is about an hour drive for him to come to my place, and vice versa. I was curious if anyone knows of any good game stores that support miniatures games that are somewhere in between the two of us that does not require going into DC. Kind of specific and a hard request I know, but it'd be great if there was something in between us so we didn't have to drive so far (without having to drive into the city, since that typically wouldn't save us any time =D).

Thanks!

Brian,

Welcome to Maryland.

Here is a link to the gaming club scene. Many events are hosted at players homes or nearby sites and events are happening almost daily. Checkout the calendar on this link.

I live in Annapolis, MD but I am not aware of any stores that fit your criteria in that portion of PG County.

Games and Stuff is pretty close to you. Excellent store with a big community.

Games and Stuff is an absolutely terrific shop, massive amount of play area with the tables in the back (I don't play minis, but I think they have at least three miniatures tables, maybe four?), but definitely closer to you than your friend. http://www.gamesandstuffonline.com/index.php?option=com_even...

Another good one, and a little more of a location compromise (though firmly still Maryland) is Family Game Store in Savage. Their calendar appears to have minis on Thursdays, and from my experience with the store, they're happy to accommodate players and groups as long as they don't directly conflict with other scheduled events: http://www.familygamestore.net/calendar.php

Thanks for the info guys.

Yes I am very familiar with Games and Stuff, and go there quite frequently for LCG night and other events. However, I think that'd be even farther away for my friend in Alexandria than my place is .

Seems I might be out of luck on a place to play miniatures somewhere in between us...

I'll need to check out that gaming club of MD site when I have time, thanks for the link!
