I scored 662 points during a France solo session. I achieved this by building all 8 of my settlements with help from the Castle, building some massive point scoring buildings, such as the Market, the Cloister Church and the Palace, and by building 7 wonders with the Chamber of Wonders and Sacristy.

I have some words of advice when playing France solo. First of all, make sure that you remove the following buildings: Carpentry, “Phase C” Quarry, and both Grapevines. If you accidently use any of these buildings, you invalidate your session. Second, make a ton of money. Third, allow the neutral to build at least one really good building, such as the Chamber of Wonders. That way you can pay a work contract when all 3 of your monks are unavailable.

To make sense of my session report, I designate the top left location on the starting board as A1, the bottom right location is notated as B5, etc. My key is as follows:

Coins = $
Wood = w
Peat = p
Peat Coal = pc
Clay = c
Livestock = L
Meat = M
Grain = g
Straw = sw
Stone = S
Flour = F
Bread = Br
Grapes = Gp
Wine = Wn
Book = Bk
Ceramics = Ce
Ornament = or
Reliquary = Re

BOOK PHASE
My main focus during the Book Phase is to build 6 buildings. My first build is the Cloister Courtyard, which is only used once, but it provides some much needed money. Next I build the Priory, which allows me to use the Builders’ Market multiple times and is arguably the most important building in the entire game. Stone and other resources acquired from the Builders’ Market allow me to build and use the Market. The Market provides money for landscapes and it’s worth massive points when I later surround it with settlements. The Cloister Garden is built adjacent to the Priory, which basically means that I have 2 Priory buildings and it also provides grapes! The Harbor Promenade provides free wine, which is always useful. Finally I build the Windmill, which scores 10 shield points and converts flour into bread. Other than buildings, I make sure to use the Joker on turn 4 so that I can acquire 10 stone on turn 16.

PHASE: A
This is a very short phase. My main goal is to use the Financed Estate as much as possible for it supplies ingredients for bread and wine. I also do some counterintuitive moves, such as doing zero work contracts and building the Cloister Workshop without using my prior!

PHASE: B
My counterintuitive moves last phase pay off for now I am able to build and use the Quarry for 10 stone. Zero work contracts also kept the neutral prior sitting on the Bakery. Before using it a second time, I visit the Windmill and Financed Estate to generate more flour. As for buildings, I build the Shipyard for shield points, some money, and the ornament will be used for a later wonder. I build the Inn for settlement points and use it once for money. Finally, I build the Cloister Church for massive shield and settlement points.

Very great play !

I have found 1 typo :

31a. line 2 : not -1S but -1$

and 2 small errors :

27a. line 2 : -10p > 10pc , not 11pc
so, you finish with 0pc instead of 1pc

27b. line 2 : use Estate = ( -2pc -2L -2Br ) instead of 3Br
so, you finish with 1Br instead of 0Br

Furthermore, you can gain 7 more settlement points :

24a. Castle [Mountain C/D]
+ Artist Colony (C6)

28b. Hamlet (C4)

30b. Hilltop Village (D6)

SETTLEMENT PHASE: E Village (D5)

so, settlement points Total is now 227

I'll see if you can gain more points (with the extra Br).
