My family game, Turbo Rally Card Racing, recently funded on Kickstrter. We have received a lot of highly positive feedback from our backers but I'm not having much luck getting a professional to review it. I suspect we're just too small to merit their time.

Does anyone have any recommendations for someone I should approach? Ideally someone who reviews both kids and adult games as our game appeals to both:

Thanks for your help!

What makes you think there's such a thing as a professional reviewer?

Haha!

Maybe I should clarify:
"Someone who reviews game systematically on a regular basis, who's opinion game fans often look to before making a purchase."

If they fit that description, they don't need to be "professional."

Well, a number of them charge for their reviews, for one. And at least Tom Vasel seems to be doing reviews as a full time occupation.

Charging does not necessarily make one professional.

Everyone has to eat and gets paid in one form or another...Even missionaries.

I have no problem paying a fair price for a fair review since I can't offer fame, high CTRs or sponsorship with our unknown game. If their review is valuable, then so is their time...IMHO

The people that have inspired me to buy a new game are Joel Eddy, Rahdo, Tom Vasel, and Marco Arnaudo.

Joel Eddy--Caveman Curling, Friday,
Rahdo--Helvetia, Lancaster,
Tom Vasel--Horse Fever
Marco--Band of Brothers Screaming Eagles, Zulus on the Ramparts
Summerer--Logistico

Actually also I owe a few to the user that posted the large thumbs for two player approved, as he brought to my attention a few games with two player variants. Let me look back.

Thoia, was his name. I owe Ys to him for sure.

Rodney Smith from the "Watch it Played" Youtube Channel typically makes videos in which he explains how to play a game -- instead of giving his opinion and he has only reviewed a Kickstarter game once as far as I can remember.

You still might want to contact him to see if he's interested, because his son is typically involved in his videos. Having a father and son enjoy your game together onscreen and telling people how to play at the same time is invaluable in spreading the word.

Father Geek would seem to be a good person to approach for a review, as he often covers family/kid games. He also seems to review quite a few lesser known projects by new game designers.
