Another question: when exactly are the cards for the two unnumbered relics assigned? When the relics are displayed in a chapel? If still undisplayed, do these relics count towards the number of relic cards that determines the assignment of the Cupros shelter at the end of the game?

The cards Fragments of the Trues Cross and Thorns from the Crown of Jesus are assigned when these two minor relics have discovered on the board.

The relics may be displayed in Phase V, 4: Display relics.

All the relics have to be counted to determine the assignment of Cupros.

When they are discovered on the board, nobody "has" to tell the others that they have one until they display them. This means that they are not obliged to get the card at any moment. Am I right?
