Just starting a new project with paper miniatures
from http://paperbattles.com/#.
But i scaled the units from 20mm to 10mm, so i can use it
also on the original gameboard.

I colored the base with the color of the Nation (here red for british)
and added the short letters of the unit (here LN for Line Infantry).

More pics following in future

Looks very good, I like the Idea to have a real 3D Gameboard with Units. But I can Imagin that there is a lot of work to do this.
Cheers Rudi

Less work than painting same numbers of miniatures

Looks pretty cool. How are you fixing the paper soldiers to the base? Is that base foam of some sort or wood? It's difficult to tell from the picture.

The base is a simple cardboard,
so i use a glue stick to fix the paper unit on the base

Very interesting. I'm too old to start painting / collecting 6mm miniatures to show the mass effect of French columns whilst still being able to easily identify Line from Light or Militia so the paper alternative is quicker and cheaper.

Keep those pictures coming.

I'm working on a C&C:N 6mm project but I'm very curious about what you did there. This 6mm project is very exciting but is a lot of work too, so you're smarter than me: you have found something which looks good and which is not that time-consuming. ^^

I'm also curious to see more pics.

Ok, the Show goes on
updated first pic now with "massed" Infantry units

And here a comparison with the original 20mm size (Infantry and LDR) and a 10mm scaled unit.

I don´t know, if i can resist in future, do the same projekt again in 20mm size, because of my big gaming board at home

If you use the 20mm size, your hexes should have a size of 10cm (flat to flat) at least (Kalistra Hex size for example)

Looks really cool. If you have pics of a battle with them, I'll be curious to see them.

Martin, if you mean rescale from 20mm to 10mm, it´s pretty simple.
The original PDF files have 20mm scaled units, so i print out 2 pages on 1, so i get a scale of 10mm

In the old days, they called them "flats" and, like modern miniatures, they were cast in metal and painted.

Over in the the gallery for one of the Battle Cry pages, someone made similar flats with with transfers applied to "Shrinky-dinks" and baked.

You can still find cardboard flats. Personally, I think they're pretty cool. Well done!

Here a first ready ART unit, flanked from Grenadier Guards, Light Infantry and Rifle Lights
Looking Forward to the first CAV units next.

And i have still enough time until the 150th Waterloo Anniversary, to built so much units, to play an epic game then

The work going on, step by step

here a pic of the first CAV (HC "Scots Greys" and GHC "Royal Horse Guards").

and here a first overview of my british army on my selfmade epic battleboard (the graphic of the board was print out and laminated by a online copy shop), with a few original terrain tiles (to show the board hexes keep the original size).

I can hardly wait to see the full epic setup with all units
