Hi!

Play-testing has finally ended on the solitaire game and two player game I've been working on. I promised the play-testing group that they'd get free copies of PnP versions of the final products, but after all they've contributed, I want to get high-quality editions shipped to them.

So here's the rub: I'd like some recommendations on great sites that have pawns/counters/printing on nice cardboard/cards that are relatively affordable. The quality doesn't have to be ridiculously good, but some choices as to the quality of each component would be awesome.

These are "Micro games" to a point, though both use boards and mats, and there are quite a few cards to print out. For a group of 6 people, I'd like both games to cost about 30 bucks to print. Thanks so much for any advice!

Cheers,

Pengu

http://thegamecrafter.com/
http://printplaygames.com/

Both offer quality print on demand printing.

Disclaimer: I run Print Play Games.

I don't know if The game crafter offers many sizes of counters yet.

If you send me the specs, I can shoot you back a quote.

...the grey rain-curtain turned all to silver glass and was rolled back, and he beheld white shores and beyond them a far green country under a swift sunrise.

3 - 6"x6" boards
108 - cards (mostly different cards) Single sided/ glossy/ standard size
8 markers in different colors
18 markers of one variety

That's for the solo game, for the other one it's:

12x12 board (can this fold in four?)

30 markers (20 with the same graphic, 5/5 with unique graphics)

24 cards

How much would these run me to print out for both of 'em?

Thanks!

Cheers,

Pengu

Try http://www.superiorpod.com. It's a little more complicated than The Game Crafter in terms of user interface, but it's a better price overall.

If you look on the boards here, you'll see that they have a pretty bad reputation for actually getting orders out the door.

Neat. Those are almost perfect prices (the closest I've been able to get to my goal). I'll see what's going on with the peeps and finalize art with my designer. I did a bit of research on the other sites and I'm not too fond of them, so you have my vote. Thanks!

Cheers,

Pengu

All but the 18x18 gameboard at TGC doesn't have the back printed as well, so that was a little of a bummer. As for SPOD, I've printed booklets with them - with urging of time constraints they finally got it done before xmas - promised in nov. ordered in sept.

as a publisher of games...don't ask and won't have to tell of my dealings with them for the last 5 years - some very good; some very bad.

Echoing Andrew, I wouldn't recommend SuperiorPOD. I used them for the first edition of Chaos & Alchemy, and while the card quality itself was good, the customer service was a nightmare. I won't work with them again.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a UK-based printer? Seems impossible!
