Theme might be more important than usual. Would cooperative games be a better idea, maybe your friends would start to think you are "out to get them" otherwise? Maybe you bring some good ol zombie killing games? Finally time wont be an issue though. You had room to bring 3 games to your hideout, what would you bring?

Interesting question. I'm glad someone finally asked this. Let me think about it.

Because along with the games I can pack a shotgun, a crowbar and a baseball bat in the boxes while having some fun games, because eventually one of the friends will become a zombie, somehow unexpectedly.

Erik1978, in the toolbar across the top of your message, you'll see "Insert Geek Link". Click that, select "Board Game", and start typing the game name. Select the one you're looking for and that's it.

To the OP, why does it have to be zombies? So sick of zombies!

Well I just found out about a worm that essentially turns some fish into zombies, making it do what the parasite wants. There are more than a few parasites that do this to animals / bugs and everytime I hear / read of a new one it makes me work on my survival plan a little more. Wanting to add a couple games to my bunker sort of best case scenario but couldn't decide how to choose the best ones. Replay value was my most important aspect.

Maybe Decktet for the variety of card games you can play with it.
Maybe IceDice for the variety of pyramid games you can play with it
And probably a massive space based game to keep your mind off your troubles here on earth. Which because of reavers nixes Firefly, but maybe TI3?

Really, I'd want more than 3 games, and I'd probably start making games I remembered from scraps of paper.

Ding. Ding. Ding. And here we have the correct answer. Give me a baseball bat or a machete and let me out of this impenetrable location once in awhile.

Why would anyone choose to kill zombies for nothing when you can kill zombies for POINTS?

Twilight Imperium (Third Edition) - we've got the time to play it, and it doubles up as a formidable weapon.

Guts of Glory - to get our stomachs used to the idea of eating tyres and toilet paper.

Humans!!! - get into the mindset of our enemy!

No.. Seriously.. Give me one friend, two rifles and fill the room with ammunition - and lets get to it!
Arh okay - I think I would bring Descent 2nd ed. with everything I have, Terra Mystica and one hell of a monster wargame, just to keep us occupied while we are not shooting zombies.

The hardest part of a Zombie Apocalypse will be pretending I'm not really excited.

My serious answer is a chess set, a deck of cards, and the complete Arkham Horror (which has dice for other gaming options). Three or four years of isolation should let me get in a couple of games of Arkham with all expansions.

While you might think this is practical eventually killing hoards and hoards of zombies would have the opposite effect as it does in TV series, I don't think it would get easier I think you would go bat shit crazy faster as it only reinforces that everyone could be dead, make this even worse if your fortress is near where you live since you will likely see zombies of people you know. I guess it might come down to how mentally stable you are or what your current pass times include ninja

You need games extremely deep replayability. Three with very deep replayability are:
Through the Ages: A Story of Civilization, Le Havre, and Tigris & Euphrates. These games are each capable of 100 play challenges. But that's only 300 days of entertainment if you play only one game a day.

Maybe you need games like chess and Go.

Mage knight - epic game and I'd finally have time to try pvp and volkare.
Terra mystica - I don't see how this game ever stops being replayable
Tta - easy to make our own expansions and this game is great for re playability.

All of this assumes a deck of cards, chess/go board and the like are not allowed or already in the shelter
