Joey arrived early, so I introduced him to this Uwe Rosenberg (Bohnanza,
Schnaeppchen Jagd, Klunker) design of building temples. I recently
learned that we had misplayed part of the scoring rules, so I was
anxious to give it a try again to see if it helped decrease the
potential for the game to drag on and on. Good news ... it did!
I took an early lead by building a large temple up to its maximum height
(6), but knew that this was a dangerous move. Sure enough, Joey used
the Assyrians to destroy the temple and take the lead. The game dragged
a bit for awhile as the temple levels we needed were 'buried' in the two
face-up stacks, which is a problem I still have with the game.
Eventually, Joey uncovered two temples I was able to use, enabling me to
go on a nice construction frenzy and win the game.
Finals: Greg 16, Joey 6
