On this fateful evening the unsuspecting people of Atlantic City didn't realize that a doom was about to befall their pleasant city. It was here that Dr. Doom had decided to try and help the Emissaries and Masters of Evil Breakout of their Negative Zone imprisonment. He brought with him a legion of Doombots and Sentinels.

When the people realized that something was going on... random power outages, a shift in the weather, and those building tall Sentinels walking about causing quakes with every step, the call went out to the Avengers and while not all the Avengers could arrive a couple of them brought help with them - Hawkeye and Black Widow brought Storm, Cable and Nightcrawler to help fight the Doom that came to Atlantic City.

This was a long, drag out fight between Dr. Doom and our heroes in this 2 player clash. For the longest time it seemed like the game would end in a stalemate. None of the Villains ever really were able to escape but the combined KO'ing power of both the Doombots and the Sentinels made it a nasty combination for the heroes as our cards kept getting KO'ed.

Battle after battle, each battle leaving metal scrap behind, destroyed buildings and carnage (well, he wasn't there but he would have enjoyed himself) and by the time the Villain deck reached its last ten cards it seriously looked like Dr. Doom would escape because until then, and between the both of us we only amassed a Strike of 9 or greater once to hit him to take out one of his Tactics cards.

Then my partner in this battle played Cable's Army of One, followed by Storm's Tidal Wave, a couple of Hawkeye cards and she had kept a couple of teleported Nightcrawler cards from the turn before and in one single turn, with 9 cards left in the Villain deck, she hit Dr. Doom with a total Strike Power of 24 and took out this last 3 Tactics cards.

Heroes prevailed, Dr. Doom captured and taken to the Raft for imprisonment and while the city of Atlantic City was scarred, the Heroes saved the day once again and closed off the Negative Zone.

I believe they used Storm's strongest card, which lowers the Mastermind's attack by 2...laugh
