I'm looking for a miniature "flag pole" similar to the one shown in the picture. I want to wrap a flag sticker around the pole. I was hoping to find some sort of stock piece, either wooden or plastic, but I can't seem to find anything online. I need them in a large enough quantity, so that it is not practical for me to make them out of the little wooden dowels that I used to make the one in the picture. Any help would be appreciated; I'm about to throw in the towel.

maybe you could print out some stickers to fold around or over some other gaming or model railroad component? Like Stratego pieces or ???

Could cutting round toothpicks to size work?

Check a hobby shop that sells model train accessories.

Model train accessory telephone poles might work. Cut off the cross-arms; plastic ones can be gotten from Atlas Model Trains, and have a base to stand on. Try https://www.walthers.com/exec/productinfo/150-775 for an example and to search for a local store.

I'm wondering if there might be an 'origami' solution to the problem. maybe some special shape with text/image printed on heavy paper/cardstock. Then folded such that is stands up? maybe even a simple tent/'sandwich board' shape?

Take golf tees, cut off the pointy bit (optional) then glue the top to a washer or coin.

Taking Dennis' toothpick idea one step farther: glue the tooth picks into one of the holes of large buttons. Place the flag facing over the other threading hole; this should also help with the stability of the piece.

If you go to Staples or a hiking/camping store, you can find Map Tacks or Flag push pins.

You can stick 'em in a base made out of blutac, Fimo, eraser, etc.

I've also made my own by finding these weird pin-like plastic pegs called "Beaded Pegs"- make sure you get ones with flat bottoms.

I stood them upside down and stickered them to make flags, just as you suggested.

Oddly enough, they're a rehab / educational tool - and I've never known this (I'm a paediatric therapist)

Good luck!

Here's what I made with some beaded pegs a while ago for a game that's actually coming out this year...no flags in it though - that idea got iterated out haha

Hope you can see that...

They're 3/4" high, for scale.
