The rules state that gas persists for two rounds.
Do the two rounds include the round the gas appears or two additional rounds?

Thanks in advance.

I play it like this.
It appears in a round. When the player who put out the gas deploys next, I turn the marker to the small clouds and it deviates one space. The next time that player deploys next I put it away.

So its the round it appears and one additional round for 2 rounds all in all.

as i understand you flip and deviate the gas marker on the movement phase of the attacker's turn, this one stay until the next movement phase

ie: for the blight turn
Gaston shoot with his gas gun on a SO , at the movement phase you do a deviation and flip the marker, it stay here until the next blight movement phase.

So in effect, gas lasts from the Combat Phase on the gas attacker's turn until the next Deployment Phase on the gas attacker's turn?

Someone correct me if this is not correct:

Gas Attacker's Combat Phase
- Gas Attack, roll attack and place disc

Gas Attacker's Move Phase
- Draw action card for deviation, move disc, attack units where the disc moves if necessary

Defender's Combat Phase
- Flip the gas disc for tracking purposes, grid is still gassed for purposes of Defender's movement

Gas Attacker's Combat Phase
- Remove the gas disc

No it does not go away that fast.

Page 14: "Each game round is broken up into each player taking a turn and performing each phase described below."

So gas persisting for two rounds means it will be around:

Gasser's Turn
Non-Gasser's Turn
-- end of 1st Round
Gasser's Turn
Non-Gasser's Turn
-- end of 2nd Round
Removed at start of Gasser's Combat Phase

I think people get confused when they consider the non-attacking player's turn. It can be made more complicated if the attacker goes second for example.

This is how we play, which i believe adheres to the rules:

Gasser's first combat: place gas marker and attack.
Gasser's movement: gas marker deviates and attacks

Gasser's next combat: nothing
Gasser's next movement: gas marker deviates and attacks.

Gasser's next combat: remove gas at start of turn.
