If the CSA may move adjacent to the enemy on a night turn (3AP), the enemy must either withdraw that night or be vulnerable to 3AP ['cause that's all that was able to 'move adjacent'] worth of fire or melee on the First turn of the next day. No big deal. The Night Turn could begin with opposing units adjacent.

This seems to be a problem with the game. If the CSA moves adjacent to Union units during the night turn, the USA units can't activate to withdraw because they start adjacent to the CSA units. It seems to me the night rules should be modified to prevent units from moving adjacent to enemy units. Also, units that are adjacent should be required to withdraw at no AP cost. I think this would make things more realistic.
