"The TIE defender is a straight-forward fighter with strong shields, weapons, agility, and a maneuver never before seen on a dial."

Let's engage in utterly baseless speculation for a while as to what that brand new maneuver might be. Then let's revisit this thread once we actually find out in many months' time to see who who right and who was miles off.

Who wants to go first?

Some people are saying the turn maneuvers would be treated as K-Turns, which would be kind of insane in light of the 3 attack. If you pulled it off you could hit someone in the flank at range 1.

One wild guess I have is putting barrel rolls on the dial. Not sure exactly what it would accomplish but it's certainly unheard of.

And something to keep in mind with the forward 6 suggestion is that it has to be able to fit in the expansion pack, so one long template at 6 won't do unless the rules allowed you to combine templates.

Did not say it would come with a new template in the description. Plus I doubt they would do different packaging for it. So what new maneuvered can they do with the current templates. A k-2 mabey.

I'm going to borrow and develop an idea from the FFG's forum:

Koiogran with hard-turn 2. That would be pretty awesome (and maybe OP).

notice the cards don't have a evade symbol but yet the pack will come with a evade token. someone at the ffg forum thinks the dial has a move that provides a free evade

I think a *hard* turn K-turn would probably be a bit OP, yeah.

Still, you could always do a *bank* K-turn. That would be...pretty effective at messing up you opponent's planning.

It is possible the token is for a Pilot Ability or Elite Talent upgrade.

Range 1 or 2 barrel roll as maneuver.

Maybe with change of direction? Basically a k-turn moved sideways.

1 Koiogran seems like the obvious choice. I think a new maneuver template is out cuz we dont see one in the preview slot plus it likely wouldnt fit in the small ship packaging.

I was thinking possibly an S-curve maneuver using 2 1-banks.

I kind of agree with the bank or turn K turn. bank is maybe more realistic but a hard 3 k turn would be a very handy move for the imperial scum.

I'm thinking a white k-turn. Elegant, easy to implement, and never seen on another dial. Makes sense to me.

I'm guessing the never before seen maneuver will be a white K-Turn. Maybe 5?

My other guess would be a Red 1 K-Turn

Im guessing a reverse K-turn. Its like a regular k-turn only you dont flip at the end.

Wouldn't the reverse of a k-turn be moving backwards and then turning around?

It could be a back up move 1, a Koigan 1 or a white Koigan.

Not to be a wet blanket, but people might be overthinking this a bit.

Maneuvers are 3 parts: Bearing, Speed, and Difficulty. So any combination of those that we haven't seen before could be it. For instance, we have yet to have any Green Speed 3 Bank or Turns. Those would be "a maneuver never before seen on a dial".

Honestly, I think that's a lot more likely than seeing the ship itself getting some super-weird twisting K-turn, or a reverse. I also think a white K-turn is unlikely - especially if it had any speed at all, being able to K-turn every single turn would be rather crazy.
