I just wanted to get your thoughts on the following scenario: a single human is left with only 2 gas canisters and desperately tries to find the required third by going through the rooms to pick up item cards. The search pile runs out and he is unsuccessful.
Per rulebook this game ends when the search deck has run out and there are not enough gas canisters in human hands to complete the mission.
Question, could the human continue to force trades with aliens who no longer hold any of their own blood infection cards to get gas canisters and complete the mission?

Rheinland-PfalzTell me, have you found the Yellow Sign?
Theoretically, yes, he could.
But the end game condition is there for a reason. As the human is not the only one in the game (there being three infected), he just does not stand a chance.
Let's play through this situation.
If the deck has run out, it becomes clear that there are no canisters anymore. At this stage, the infected, realizing that they cannot infect the last human alive anymore (because, let's face it, at that stage it is known who they are, and what's to stop them from admitting they cannot infect anymore?), will
a) keep out of the way of the human IF they happen to have only canisters to trade
b) go searching for the knife or bullets IF they don't
At that point, if we continue playing, the goal of the infected becomes to kill the human. And if there are enough standing (which is very likely), the human just does not stand a chance. They could even spawn parasites like crazy...
