Governor Walker claims he voted for Ronald Reagan. Except that, he wasn't old enough in either 1980 or 1984. Did he lie, or did he actually commit voter fraud at the age of 13 or 17?

This sort of stuff is always stupid no matter which side is doing it, and both sides have done it because people will all the time mis-remember "supporting a candidate" as voting for the guy. Walker likely just was a big fan of Reagan when Reagan was President (big shock there) and forgot he was too young to vote for Reagan in 84. It happens and it's silly to harp on it.

He's looking real sharp in his 1940's fedora. He's got nerves of steel, an iron will, and several other metal-themed attributes. His fur is water tight and he's always up for a fight.

He's a semi-aquatic egg-laying mammal of action. He's a furry little flat-foot who'll never flinch from a fray. He's got more than just mad skills, he's got a beaver tail and a bill.

I wasn't born yet and I voted for Reagan. And when I'm dead, I'll probably vote for Reagan again.

My kids vote in high school, maybe even grade school.
The votes aren't communicated to the electoral commission (that I know of), but they are voting nevertheless.

Showing my age, I got to go to the polls and cast one for Reagan that did (as far as I know) make it to the electoral commission.

The interviewer now says the quote was mis-transcribed and Walker really said:

Quote:
A vote for Ronald Reagan meant limited government, you know, smaller government, lower taxes, strong national defense. You knew what you were getting. You knew how a Reagan administration, a Reagan presidency was going to be better for you.
http://www.rightwingnews.com/misc/correction-scott-walker-di...

Unfortunately he doesn't post the whole clip so you can't tell what was said just before that. But this makes a lot more sense since even in the original quote it says:

Quote:
I remember, I was a teenager, had just become a teenager and voted for Ronald Reagan -- limited government, you know, smaller government, lower taxes, strong national defense . . . .
So he's not claiming he was of voting age anyway.

I remember doing similar exercises in grade school. In 1976 my brother and I had a debate about the presidential election. My six-year old self was for Ford, simply because he was already President and I felt some sense of loyalty I guess. I believe my major plank in the mock debate/campaign with my brother was that if Carter were elected I would stop eating peanuts.

I broke the campaign promise.

I was desperately looking for the bloom county series about Iran Contra, because the I equate the 2 with the '80s and they're inextricably intermixed (such a cute puppy alien!). Sadly google has failed me :(

The 4 aren't mutually exclusive.

Maybe he voted in a mock election? I had those in grade school. So it wouldn't be a lie.

If you're wondering about bonafide lies and deception perpetrated by Gov. Scott Walker, you need only consult the audiotape and transcript of the prank phone call that he took believing he was talking to one of the megarich Republican Koch brothers.

Remember, what you're hearing in the video segment below is NOT actually David Koch but a devil's advocate of a prankster who got Walker to spill a considerable amount of self-compromising beans about himself and his actual motives.

The BEAST's Ian Murphy calls Walker, posing as archconservative moneybags David Koch, and they casually discuss crushing all public unions
