How would that stop you from being denied?

Yeah, I gotta agree with John. What are you really asking?

You can create your Kickstarter and not make it live until you want so you can edit it and revise it until you want to launch it.

I guess he may want to prepare more of the game and its development before running the Kickstarter but on the other hand make sure it's accepted so he don't invest time and money into developing it just to have it not accepted.. Or something. Why wouldn't a project be accepted?

It's just that I read that some kickstarter campaigns get denied, so if it were to be denied i guess i would go to indiegogo or some other crowdfunding website.
At what moment is it accepted, as soon as you create it? then you can decide when it goes live?
thanks guys

Wouldn't it be better just to ask Kickstarter?

There is I believe a loose submission review process. So a KS has to be cleared first? Or the page is allowed to be made. But it will not go live unless it it cleared.

A KS can also be taken down after its gone live.

It seems to me that he is worried it may be viewed as violating kickstarter Terms. IG allows certain campaign types KS doesn't.

I don't think they judge it until you post - some "improve my life" stuff even makes it through that. The community is usually quick to bring those down, though.

So what's the problem? If it gets accepted, no problem. If it's denied it will not go live and you can go to Indiegogo, no problem.

Some campaigns indeed get denied for violating KS rules, e.g. for having lotteries/raffles as a reward. I read about a guy who wanted to raffle a few copies of his game among all $1 pledges. Not allowed.

Kickstarter is not going to deny your project unless something doesn't fit within their guidelines. If this is the case, they will let you know, and you can change it accordingly. They do not discriminate on a project based on the content. Naturally though, if you have a game about pornography or something that would be an exception. Just don't do a raffle, charity, or anything weird like that. Just present your game, what you have completed so far, and make it clear what you need funding for to finish your project. Rewards are also important, you generally need to keep your rewards "related" to your project in some way. Don't offer a ticket to an Aerosmith concert as a reward for supporting your game, unless it's about Aerosmith (then it might be acceptable). Look at other Kickstarter projects (successful and unsuccessful ones), and see what they are doing. Overall, you're really going to have to go out of your way to have your project denied by Kickstarter. I'd definitely recommend setting it up in advance though, you can take all the time you want to set it up, and when you're ready to launch it you can.
