Top 20 Reasons To Pick Up The Upon a Fable Board Game

Upon a Fable – The Fairy Tale Strategy Board Game is the first product release from the Dyskami Publishing Company. After completing a successful Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign in 2013, Dyskami released the game into select worldwide retail distribution in January 2014. These are the 20 top reasons all board gamers are going to want to pick up Upon a Fable for their collection.

REASON #8: Family-Friendly Theme

Zombies, farming, kingdom building, shipping, space exploration, warring nations, economics – these are some of the most common themes or settings in board games today. These themes are targeted and appropriate for the more dedicated gamers but may have limited appeal beyond the core community.

The theme of Upon a Fable is universal. Everyone knows and loves fairy tales, with the evocative stories we are told as children sticking with us into adulthood. The classic tales are favourites of children of all ages, while the recent reimagining of the stories (such as Once Upon a Time TV series, Fables comic series, etc.) strongly appeal to the adults as well. While just about any theme can be carefully woven into the mechanics of a well-designed Euro board game, we wanted a friendly and familiar theme that would appeal to the whole family for our first release.
