I'm in the reallllllly early stages of feeling this out, but does anyone have a ballpark idea how much something done in the feel/vein/general quality of:

http://www.atarimania.com/pubs/hi_res/vanguard_atari_france_...

http://www.atarimania.com/pubs/hi_res/atari-2600-flyer-star-...

Would set me back?

I'm thinking in terms of box cover for a Kickstarter game roughly 8x8".

It's possible I'd need a few complementary smaller pieces for component graphics as well, so there might be a "package" going on there.

I dont think it would be to bad really you are looking at one full picture and then a few small things. It is different for every artist but i bet a small package like that would not be more than a few 100. I think this also depends on who you hire to do the work. So folks charge a lot some folks charge less.

I am a professional artist and have a degree in Graphic Art but I am also a police officer full time and have been for the last 16 years so i do not have to make a living on my art so i can charge less just cuz i love to make art. But i dont think it will break you by any means.
