Hi,

In the rules, it states something like , all tiles must be adjacent to at least one tile already on your estate. Something like that.
It does not mention any exception. However, my question is , does this also apply to the castles?
It seems like , if so, the boards with adjacent castles would have an unfair advantage. Or is that not the case?

Thanks

Yes, the exact same placement rules apply to castles.

Each board has its own strengths and weaknesses. Some have many small regions (good for quick, early scoring). Others have giant regions good for mega points later in the game. Some let you get money early, others focus on knowledge tiles. Having nearby castles is an advantage, but certainly not the only advantage you can have.

No exception. Adjacent castles makes it easier to play castles early, but more difficult to play other tiles early. Not obvious that this is a huge advantage.

Grouped castles make castles easy to play early ... if you're fortunate enough to have them early. They are, after all, tied with mines for the tile type in scarcest supply.
