I'm toying with some ideas for introducing Wild Animals into the arena. Anyone interested in helping out?

You may want to look at Ludus Gladitorius 2, which has a lion and prepainted minis. More tactical/combat oriented game but you can play both

I did see that thread, but I have a different take on the matter...

In my view, animal appearances are rare, but exciting. My version uses the animals to reduce the likelihood of "kiting". I also have some nice lion models on my painting table.
