I am a bit embarrassed to admit this, but I am confused by adverts like those for "Slaughterball" and "League of Angels." (It must be Low T.)

Incidentally, is that a man there with breasts the size of bowling balls?! And do angels wear nightgowns?

Anyway...

Does sex really sell?

I suppose traditional wargaming is somewhat removed from such salacious interests and rough pursuits, but I see a bit of it creep into science fiction games.

Can you think of any traditional wargames, of any genre, with "sexy" cover art?

Sexy ink notwithstanding, I feel the same way about this as I did when watching the less-than-epic film "The Eagle", about the Roman occupation of Britain. This featured Scottish tribes going around naked from the waist up (guys only). I have to tell you, whether in Scotland or Southern England (Boudicca), you don't go around in winter starkers and expect not to come down with, at the very least, an embarrassingly runny nose just when you're going into battle.

And here I thought wargaming was the one place on the internet where I would not have sex crammed in my face!

On the other hand, I am still waiting for some wargame on Caesar to have cover art showing Cleopatra being rolled out of that carpet into Caesars presence.

Then again, I do collect comic books......

This magazine cover probably got it fairly accurate/right.

In the winter, the rain/sleet/hail/snow is horizontal. In the summer the rain/sleet/hail/snow is vertical.

Having visited both Scotland and southern England in June, I have to say, it doesn't seem a hell of a lot better in the summer.

my mom just tried to tell my girlfriend that the outer Hebrides are just as fun and sunny (and warm) as the Ionian islands or Malta in june

but I think the Boudica cover is a beautifull cover IMO, but I can't imagine running around in next to nothing in any battle. (neither can I imagine running around in a battle dressed in full combat gear but that's something else)

It's a pity though that you just can't book all-inclusive holidays on the Outer Hebrides. I'd gladly limit myself to the local beverages as long as they're for free...
My fondest memory of Maltese beverages was the great selection of Whiskies in the airport duty free shop...

Edit: To get back on topic, that Boudicca cover was the first I thought of as well... Sadly the game supposedly is not as good as the cover...

I just want to say, God, on behalf of all of us thank you for all of the good things we do in your name, like charity and forgiveness. That’s an idea we would never come up with. That’s for sure. You know that better than anybody.

It's not so well known that the bronze age and iron age were followed by the silicone age.
