I was finally quite satisfied by the result of the combination of the following AI house rules:

1) When instructed to move, choose INSs to move following these priorities
- first closest INS without LOS to the active Team but in range (5 spaces)
- then closest INS with LOS to the active Team not in range
- then closest INS without LOS to the active Team and out of range
- then closest INS with LOS to the active Team and in range

"Closest" is measured in spaces "by air"

2) INSs move toward the first closest space that guarantee LOS in-range to the active Team

3) When moving from out-of-range INSs stop when entering in-range

4) When moving from a space in-range they move in such a way to get the best modifier

5) When a INS enters for the first time in-range GIs members in-range can try OpFire: with a droll 5 or 6 they can have a normal Fire

6) INSs fire always to closest GI, then the one with more step loss, then random
