I see people mention that action denial is a key strategy but other than the Imperial Aces pilot (which isn't even out yet) how is this accomplished? By positioning yourself to be bumped is the only other thing I can think of but then that denies you a shot on them if that ends up being the final positioning.

Just wanted to make sure there wasn't something I missed.

Thanks.

Indeed by blocking the path of enemy ships with low-PS ships. All the other ships can still shoot on the blocked ship, and the blocking ship can shoot at other targets. Blocking one enemy ship often causes several other ships to bump into each other as well (especially in tight formations).

Yep, one of your (low-PS) ships won't be able to shoot the ship that crashed into it, but your others can. And if your ships didn't crash, then you probably took Focus and/or Target Lock actions, but your opponent didn't (due to collisions).

This is pretty much the only way (aside from being extreme lucky) to destroy Soontir Fel + PtL + Stealth.

It's a matter of using the pros and cons of pilot skill: high PS moves last and shoots first, which is great if you have Boost or Barrel Roll as you can avoid enemy arcs, and is also great for killing lower PS ships before they can return fire. On the other hand, if you have low PS ships, you can use this to your advantage by intentionally blocking. If you can block a K-turn, even better, as that ship is now facing the wrong way and stressed!

Makes taking out Tycho + PtL a whole lot easier too.

Ion Cannon Turrets do a good job at this as well (ionizing a stressed ship, or ionizing a ship into an asteroid).

other more passive methods include the use of Sensor Jammer or Kagi shuttle

It's totally off-topic, but since you otherwise handled the OP's question so ably, here's a list of ways to fairly reliably kill him:
* Focused APT to the face
* Target-locked Autoblaster to the face
* Wedge + PTL + Jan's boost... preferably to the face
* PTL + Homing Missile
* Han + Marksmanship + Gunner (he's likely to run out of tokens before you run out of rerolls)
* Ten Numb + Marksmanship
* Krassis + Heavy Laser Cannon
* Krassis + Cluster Missiles + Recon Specialist

Of course most of those aren't very common and/or take a fair amount of setup to do--which is why Soontir is so good. But he's definitely killable. whistle

I just love how 3/8 of the Soontir-solutions are accessible to imperials. lol

* Wedge + PTL + Jan's boost... preferably to the face [Rebel Only]
* PTL + Homing Missile [Major Rhymer again makes this better than rebels]
* Han + Marksmanship + Gunner (he's likely to run out of tokens before you run out of rerolls) [Rebel Only]

* Krassis + Cluster Missiles + Recon Specialist [Imperial Only]

Actually, only 3 of them are not accesible to Imperials, and the Imps improve on 2 of the 3 that are for both factions (and are obviously way worse at the third)
