Most of the Hero's can spend one of their two actions to move 4 spaces. Then they could do another action to move another 4... So basically they can move 8 spaces per turn if they didn't want to do anything else.

Do overlord characters, minions, and familiars of heroes have that same capability? If so, it almost seems crazy to kill overlord monsters as they can move so far they get right back in e battle again after being killed off due to how reinforcements work in many campaign scenarios.

Thanks for the help!

Overlord monsters and minions can double move except where it's stated they can't (e.g. the zombie). Hero familiars generally have a description of move/action but I think for most of them it's stated they only have a single move.

Regarding this, it is often the difference between a monster having to double-move in order to get back into the fray, and letting that monster attack or work toward the objective (while another monster of its type is able to double-move into the battle).

It may feel like a pointless endeavor because you're back to where you started, but the alternative (not killing the thing) could put you in an even worse place.

Monsters can do two of any action they are allowed, except "Attack."

Familiars are given a single Move action per turn by default. Any additional actions they are allowed will be detailed on the familiar card itself.

In general the heroes want to focus on completing their objective rather than killing all the monsters, yes. There are times when killing a monster is a good idea, even a necessity, but if the heroes are going out of their way to kill things they don't need to kill, they're wasting time.

To expand on this real quick, a monster can only perform an action that grants it an attack once per round (unless it has the ravage ability or a card like Frenzy is played on it).

For example, the Elemental's special action "Fire" grants it an attack an attack that targets all figures adjacent to it. In fact, the ability specifically states for it to "Perform and attack..." The Elemental may either make a normal ranged attack, or use it's fire ability, not both.

It may also not use it's fire ability more than once in the same turn, even if it was granted another attack action(s) via frenzy or blood rage. That is because those cards specifically grant attack actions, and "Fire" is a special action that happens to be an attack. The only way you would be able to use the special action "Fire" twice in the same turn is if you somehow granted the Ravage ability to an elemental.

I hope that wasn't too confusing.
