The V0.5 rocket.

Reminds me of an old Civil War article in S&T about soldiers in the southwest (can't remember which side) strapping explosives to a mule and sending it off into the enemy. Of course, having a mind of it's own, it decided to come back...

I wonder how it would work. You can't force a cat to go in any direction it doesn't want to go.

That's what the rocket bird is for.

The incident in question happened the night before the Battle of Valverde, in New Mexico. A Union captain thought it would be a great idea for a night raid, strapping explosives to mules and sending them in the direction of the Confederate lines. Of course, "mulish" is a synonym for "stubborn and uncooperative."

It didn't work so well when the US experimented with strapping incendiary devices to bats, either.

Call on IP theft

Judges 15:4

Samson went and caught three hundred foxes, and took torches, and turned the foxes tail to tail and put one torch in the middle between two tails. 5When he had set fire to the torches, he released the foxes into the standing grain of the Philistines, thus burning up both the shocks and the standing grain, along with the vineyards and groves.

Read about these about a month ago. Apparently most of the dogs were afraid of the tanks (go figure) they were intended to destroy and ran back to their handlers. They should have given the handlers Kongs full of peanut butter to throw under the tanks. Mmmmmmmm...peanut butter! BOOOOOOOOOM!

Honestly though, I found this use of dogs despicable. I always feel bad for animals that get forced to participate in an activity like war that they simply have no understanding of. Pity. It reminds me of the memoirs of a Federal officer on Cemetery Hill on the 3rd day at Gettysburg. He remarked that he thought it was strange that he felt more pity for the horses being killed and wounded by the Confederate bombardment than for the soldiers.
