Hello,

I know you can play Soccer or Kubb outside, but I am looking for board or card games. I like Bang, Andor, Catan, Uluru, Robinson, Wizzard... but as soon as there is a bit of wind, playing them is no fun anymore.

So I am looking for a game which you can play outside in the summer when there is a bit of wind.

Thanks for your help,

Sarah

Your cards stay in your hand the whole time when playing oddball Äeronauts

If you put the card tableau under something (glass or plexi etc) you could play Quarriors! outside. After the initial selection you don't touch the cards again.

Roll Through the Ages: The Bronze Age

Blueprints - unless the wind is strong enough to knock over your stacked dice . . .

Siam - but only if you like abstract strategy games.

Trax is just as breeze-proof and rain-indifferent as Hive. Total fanatics use more than one set to play unlimited Trax, although the game boundary might tend to wander off the table. For this reason, a tablecloth is recommended for unlimited Trax.

Twixt is all plastic except for the box, and the pieces sort of lock together on the board, so it should resist some wind, although I haven't tried it. There are lots of decent quality previously owned sets on eBay and right here on BGG marketplace. You may find one still in shrink. I recommend the pie rule for a fair game, or, if you want to go the other way, row handicapping.

Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars, where you will be forced to drift aimlessly farther into the vast, empty abyss of space until a lack of food, water and oxygen causes you to succumb to Death's cold embrace.

Oh David you beauty! I played Twixt when I was younger and had totally forgotten about it. I can't even remember where I played but I think I remember liking it. I'll have to check with some friends.
