It's sad that other war heroes will never get the same level of veneration, but I hope that my immense respect for Bill serves as a personal reminder to not forget the multitude of nameless others.

I was lucky enough to get an autographed copy of his book "Brothers in Battle, Best of Friends" as part of the Airborne In Your Pocket Kickstarter.

Great book, great man!

Edit: After thinking about it for a minute, this is one of the things I really like about our hobby - the connection between games and real history. If it weren't for the game, I might not have ever bought this book, much less get a signed copy. I really like the way our hobby brings the real lives of people and events of history together.

It really is sad that so few are left! The only good thing is that so many of these guys have been filmed by family, amateur historians, etc. These days it's a lot easier to do that than back when you had to have a film camera, which wasn't so common. Still, a lot of incredible personal stories are disappearing forever!

Rest in peace "Wild Bill"

You and your band of brothers are an inspiration to us all. May we never forget the sacrifice of all those who served.

He was a great citizen-soldier. Having survived intense frontline combat in WW2 while losing many buddies, I'm sure he considered himself very fortunate to have lived to the ripe ol' age of 90.

Jackasses? You let a whole column get stalled and strafed on account of a couple of jackasses? What the hell's the matter with you?

The D-Day paratroopers will always be my greatest heroes. Bill was arguably one of the most interesting guys in the original Easy company. RIP Bill. Thanks for sharing your stories.
