Disclaimer:
This is a fast, quick, my view of this game. This isn't an in depth review and is more of a personal post about the game.

Personal Experience with the game:
4 games

Bias based on winning:
1 win

Bias based on owning:
None

How I found out about the game:
This was an early play when I was getting back into boardgames.

Brief back story
Hotel chains and there value are hard to predict. Who will buy out who and become the big brands like we know today?

1000 meter view:
Acquire is a hotel business simulation. On your turn you place tiles onto the grid (based on a letter and number) that may or may not expand or found hotel chains. Next, you can buy three shares in existing hotel chains at a price based on the hotel size. This continues until mergers happen at which point money is paid out for hotels that got bought out. Game continues until hotels get big enough and the person with the most money wins.

Liked:
- This is a great game for business simulation and speculation.

Didn't Like:
- The lookup sheets can be a little hard to translate.

What did I learn about playing well:
You need to be in a few mergers to keep cash flow.

Rating:
On BGG I gave it 8.5/10.

Real Verdict:
I argue with my wife that a ten rating scale is irrelevant for restaurants. I either won't go back, will go back, or want to go back.
Want to go back angry

I think he just meant in "the marketplace". As in, "why isn't Acquire 100x more popular than Monopoly?"

I suppose the answer is that in Monopoly people are almost every turn collecting or spending money and that makes you feel you are playing an economic game. But dice move your actions....

In Acquire the revenues are given at small dosis along the game however it is a quite good economic and invesment game simulation without too much complication.
