Watching the show on the history channel has me on a Viking kick... as the title says what Viking theme games do you recommend?

Yggdrasil

I've had a hard time finding a physical copy, but I have the digital version on my tablet. Very good co-op that can be played solo.

Well I really enjoy Vikings although it might not really be what you are looking for. The theme is just pasted on, it could really be anything but it is a good game and Zman is apparently reprinting it this year.

There is an icelandic (with an english version, both in the same box)game called Vikings which is a strategy/risk-ish game about conquering iceland, if you can get your hands on that one.

Fire & Axe is fun if you have at least three players. Also, look into Walhalla for a lighter game (also requires at least three players).

For a deeper euro-style game, try Asgard, which features lots of tricky decisions and a fairly unique feel in the gameplay (works pretty well with two, although it can take almost as long to set up than it does to play!)

As others before me have mentioned, Yggdrasil is one of the best co-ops around, and a great challenge for even two players.

My personal favorite is...good ol' Vikings, even though the theme really IS just pasted on. It's just plain fun. :-)

Fjords has an almost Viking looking dude on the box. Of course you aren't doing any stereotypical Viking things. So maybe not.

The Fury of the Norsemen is a micro game from the 1980's about a Viking raid against a settlement. There's also the Cry Havoc series game Viking Raiders.

Vlaada Chvatil's Graenaland, which is about the Norse colonization of Greenland. If you're looking for the stereotypical Viking violence, you won't find it in this game!

My favorite is probably Vikings, followed by Yggdrasil...

... but Graenaland by Vlaada Chvátil is also quite good.

I'm looking forward to Shipwrights of the North Sea.

Warlord beats Troll, Troll beats Elf, Elf beats Water Sprite, and basically everything else beats Enchanted Bunny.

No recommendation, but the definitive list of Viking games is its family: Vikings
