Hi!

I just wanted to ask if there is a component overview for this game?
Got my copy this weekend and after punching out there were a lot of counters on the table...since I have not played the game nor read the rules yet,
I did not know how to sort them.
(Ok, I put all pieces of one color in one bag but there are still a lot pieces left...)

Either at the end of the rule book or play book, there's a black and white copy of the counters which serves as a manifest. Otherwise, the pictures of the counter sheets are all on line here in the images section.

Not in my German Edition.

That might help, thanks for the hint.

You can download the English versions from the GMT website.

This might help also if you have a question about the wording in the translation.

There are color images for all of the counter sheets (front and back) right here in BGG:

FYI, this is how I sort mine (using TWO counter trays!):

The small square VP counters:

wedding and piracy together
Virgin Queen, Paris, master of Central Europe together
All the rest together

In other words, separate the most-used from the least-used.

Unrest markers together

Influence* and piracy* markers together

At War & +/-1 card markers together

Treasure together

Independent/minor country troop markers together

Scientists/artists* together, ideally in turn order

Marriage prospects* together

Leaders* together

Fortresses, Patrols and Jesuits together

Cipher keys*, handguns* and informants* together (all being 'espionage' markers)

That pretty much leaves control markers, military units, ships and stand-up leaders to sort out. Do so by nationality.

*You could make the argument that you should just sort all these out by color (i.e., nationality) and keep the colors separate from each other. I don't, just because you have so many different shapes and sizes in this game that you'd be likely to lose an influence marker somewhere down beneath a layer of hexagonal control markers! When it comes to actually playing a game, of course, you can give each player everything he needs in his own color so long as you have enough room on the table - but take that last caveat seriously!

Very nice. I like those lists.

But at the third-last row (83 VP-markers with different backsides) you didn´t want to be destinct any more? Those are the interesting ones...

Well, I had enough indeed at the end blush
Have not played the game and just had a little overview about the rules - that's maybe why I did not recognize the VP-markers should have been listed in detail...
