Do Sidekicks have a Level?
Some abilities require to spin a character down a level (some also up, but if Sidekicks do have a Level, it would only be Level 1, so no up-leveling) or to knock out every Level 1 character. Do the Sidekicks count for these abilties or not?

A pure gues would be no they dont level

If memory serves correct the 6 sides of the dice are;

1mask energy
2fist energy
3bolt energy
4shield energy
5wild energy
6side kick

unless there are different variations of side kicks i assume that is correct

But don't be fooled by the radio, the TV, or the magazines. They'll show you photographs of how your life should be but they're just someone else's fantasies.

Bolt is 1 and Mask is 3. Otherwise you're correct.

Sidekicks don't level, but I'm not sure if cards that affect level one characters affect sidekicks.

You are correct.

Here is the part of the rules about levels :
"Levels and Spinning
Characters have levels (normally three levels, although the Sidekick die has only one); these are the die faces at the bottom of a card that show the die’s custom symbol and the character stats. The leftmost character dice face shown is level 1, and the level increases
by one for each face (thus the next die face on the card to the right of the level 1 die face would be level 2). Note that a die face’s level is different from its fielding cost. Some abilities have you take a die and spin it up or down a level. To do this, check the card and locate the face corresponding to your character to determine its level. Then
set the die face up one level, or down one level using the character card as a guide. If an effect causes a character to spin up one level, move it to the next face to the right on the card. Characters that are already at their highest level cannot be spun up. If an effect
causes a character to spin down one level, move it to the next character face to the left. Unless specified, a character cannot spin down from level 1 to a non-character face."

But we know the cards can have special effects like: Beast (Kreature), Uncommon, says, "When Beast blocks, spin the blocked character down 1 level. If it is already level 1, it is knocked out." ... Sidekicks don't do well against this Beast. Well, I guess they don't do well against any of the Beasts.

It is pretty consistent with superhero comics for sidekicks to not contribute much to fights.

Sidekicks are quick easy damage and good for chump blocking. If you pair them up with a Captain america and green goblin you can do a lot with them.
