So right now the last data pack I bought is Opening Moves.

I want to start playing again with the decks I have made to this point, but I'm worried they will be at a disadvantage to players who have been keeping up.

Is this a valid concern?

It'll be a small difference, if any. Your decks might possibly be marginally less than optimized, but your piloting skill and overall build quality will dictate much more.

Maybe. But you can also surprise people by playing from an "outdated" meta. So it's not all bad.

No, it isn't a valid concern.

Running against the meta might even give you an advantage.

Not knowing anything at all about some of the big new cards will put you at a disadvantage, but you don't actually need to own/use them to be competitive.

I don't think it will be a problem as long as :
1) you know about the new cards, so you know what to expect.
2) your opponents does not know that your decks are not up to date, that way they can't rule out what you may or may not have in your deck.

Welcome back !!!

head to a spoiler site (http://netrunnerdb.com/en/search) and read all the new cards so you at least know what to expect. you might see some must have card.

I played a jinteki player in a similar situation to you and I just ruined his day with keyhole

or at least know these cards exist:
keyhole
knight
paper wall
power shutdown
rsvp
wraparound
sweeps week

We've been going over the decks in our group and noticed that there is very little Spin other than Jackson Howard and the occasional runner deck. You can build a great Shaper with everything up to C&C and a great Crim with everything up to Humanity's Shadow. On the Corp side, Jackson Howard should be enough for anything you want to do.
