Don't really care about the Pistorius case, but a headline caught my attention just now.

The prosecution are attempting to portray the Pistorius' relationship as strained, and as supporting evidence they are presenting the fact that he watched porn on his tablet the night before the shooting.

Now, I understand that South Africa has some odd views of sexuality (although I freely admit that I may be wrong about this, having in large part, but not entirely, been informed by Tom Sharpe ), but really, in this day and age, how does looking at porn count as having a strained relationship? Even if just as one part of a body of evidence for that contention it just seems a peculiar, even alien, way of thinking to me.

I understand perfectly if someone doesn't approve of porn, but this next step...

You really do try to be obtuse, don't you?

Maybe. If I see "porn" in a headline I assume it is there to generate clicks, rather than important news worthy of discussion.

Now. Who's obtuse in my eyes?
OP provided context and comment.

You didn't notice because you didn't read past the introductory sentence.

Considering he had real-life porn right beside him there in the bedroom, I'd at least consider the fact he was looking afield to be a very small supporting factor. I sure wouldn't build a case around it, but it's a small stick to throw on the fire if you've already got one going.

What did the obtuse angle say to the smaller one? You sure are a cute angle.

According to Dan Savage, a proposed study of the effects of pr0n consumption by a UK university had to be canceled because they couldn't recruit a non-pr0n-consuming control group.

As grey traces of dawn tinge the eastern sky, the three travellers, men of Willowdale, emerge from the forest's shadow. Fording the river, they turn south, journeying into the dark and forbidding lands of The Necromancer...

What if he was viewing nude photos or home-shot sexually explicit videos of HER...would that still be considered porn (at least from his perspective)?

If you were happily fucking a model like her why would you need to look at porn, unless it was nude photos you took of her or that home video that the kids will never see?

So I guess if they weren't screwing like rabbits, or despite her hotness she was actually kinda frigid and awkward in bed, I could see how that could put a strain on the relationship.

Not saying I by it, though whole thing is kinda screwed up.

Or maybe he was secretly gay and looking at gay porn, hence their relationship being strained. She was his beard.

Or, they could have been watching it *together*.

Funny thing about tablets - they are pretty remarkable portable. And watching porn together? Couples *do* do that, ya know...
