I asked these questions in the last months, but it was too soon to get a definitive answer. Since the game is approaching final production I'm guessing that now they can be answered

1)How will the name inscription on the boxes be handled? Will we have to answer a survey?
2)What type of insert can we expect for the box?
3)What size will the box be?
4)How about faction expansion boxes and map expansion ones?

It's the first stretch goal (well it's the funding goal actually)

"Name incribed on the boxed game", not on the game box. I expect it to be somewhere in the rulebook. As for the actual names, I suppose they will just use the names in the KS accounts.

Or, it'll be part of the survey.

Oh my gosh I'm totally using a fake name.

"Why yes I WAS able to get Marilyn Monroe's copy of Cthulhu Wars. It was quite a story, let me tell you."

I was assuming all the names would be in every copy, but on second reading, it seems each copy might have the owner's name only. It seems a lot of unnecessary work for the publisher, though.

That would be twisting it... It is a lot of work and I'd much prefer GEG stating "We have no money, so we can't do it" to something like that...

I would also love to know more about these, if at this point of the production more info is available.

It MIGHT be in size 1 font. Just kidding we are thinking about this and it's possible it might just be in the rulebook. We are trying to figure out how to put it on the box though.

What do you mean by "insert".

The piece of plastic or cardboard inside the box that holds the components.

I have to know what to expect, this feature is extremely important and yet is often overlooked: Descent 2nd edition (and FFG in general) has the worst insert imaginable, Zombicide has an awesome insert.

Edited grammar

Fantasy Flight simply uses the same insert for everything they produce. I simply remove them and put everything in ziplock bags.

For Cthulhu Wars though, an insert that properly holds everything is a must.

It's ridiculous how some big companies like Fantasy Flight handle their box inserts, the 'throw-it-all-in-a-big-pit' style of insert design. Although half the time I like being able to break out the Sketchup and foam core to make my own inserts anyways. I don't even know how GEG will handle it, I assume somebody is going to end up locked in a padded cell after the experience, inscribing arcane runes in the walls using their own blood as ink.

What about printing in on the inside of the box lid, sort of as if a couple of pages of the necronomicon have been smuggled out of greeneyegames - those who should not be named goo

I can think of a solutions for the name in the box:

A specialized: "This box is owned by: ________" With my name written in Calligraphy followed by a thank you for backing this project all signed by Sandy Petersen!

Oh yeah!!

I know the date slipped, but this was supposed to release last Thanksgiving, and then I thought this March. Now April? Is that still correct? I haven't heard much, and I am a KS backer at the bajillion dollar level.

Seems like there has not been a whole lot of communication. I tried their website and didn't see anything there.

Thanks,

While Sandy was in Poland last week, Cody and Link were at the GAMA trade show in Las Vegas where they met with Panda. Thus, I personally anticipate updates at some point soon.

Actually we are thinking about doing it on the inside of the box lid. As for an insert Panda will probably decide what is best and do that.

Can't happen and would be a huge waste of time and money anyway. With all the extras it'd be thrown out anyway.

I think it can. Each box should be able to hold everything it comes with and nothing more. If people want to toss the insert after that it's their problem.

Obviously I'm not saying "GIMME A NICE INSERT", I'm saying I'd love to have one. I started this thread out of curiosity.
