I made this scenario about five years ago. I guess it was Dow’s inspiration for this new product. Your welcome DOW .

Jeronimon over on the DoW forum figured out the dimensions for everyone, in case you were wondering:

Quote:
One board will measure:

width: 70,6 centimeters (about 28 inches)
depth: 114 cm (about 45 inches)

Total map, all six layer out with the staggering:

width: 423 cm (about 14 feet)
depth: 151 cm (about 5 feet, almost 60 inches)

Jesse what's behind? And which deck is needed? Is there a special one?

Titanium, of course! Nothing but the best for Memoir fans. Everyone should start lifting weights now!!

Further details will have to come from DoW, I'm afraid.

Wow. Any word on how many sets of base + expansions are needed to play that beast? Does it use the overlord or breakthrough deck, and how many of each?

Would be cool to get this set up and played on D Day, which happens to be my anniversary...lol

Sounds like it will depend on how many maps you play at a time.

At least one original copy of Memoir'44 is required to play, as well as the Terrain Pack, Equipment Pack and Winter Wars expansions. The Mediterranean Theater expansion is also recommended, though not required.

More copies of the base game or expansions are required if you want to play a Double, Triple or Six Map battle.

While the photos look awesome, I think the average Joe is going to be hard-pressed to find table space to play anything but a single board. Two together (56" x 45") won't fit on my table without hanging over.

Edited for fuzzy math.

There's no way I'll find a table big enough in my house to set up all of the maps, so I'm planning to create Operation Neptune on the floor! It'll look incredible from a "bird's eye view" and talk about a cool event to host at the house!! cool

Hear hear! We need numbers. Vague statements like "More copies of the base game or expansions are required if you want to play a Double, Triple or Six Map battle" aren't going to cut it. I need to start collecting everything I need for the full Six Map Operation Neptune NOW so I can be ready to table that monster as soon as it arrives.

Speaking of table, I ran home last night and verified that my two existing game tables will accomodate the full 5' x 14' setup. Woohoo!

You guys do realize that the goal with Overlord and now Operation Neptune is that lots of friends get together, pool their resources, and play an epic battle together...not that one person does it all on their own! laugh

Sure, make fun of my OCD need to have everything

I almost certainly won't be buying an additional 4 base and 2-3 each of whatever required expansions, but I want to start working on proxy solutions. I don't want to have to rely on finding the requisite local fellow fanatics.
