Those looks cool. I wonder if some of the miniatures will need to be assembled.

Gen Con is too juicy a target to miss. I think this one has a pretty good chance of hitting their target.

But then I did back Up Front.

they have already said all the stretch goals wont be ready for august. they said the first shipment in august will have the 2 base sets and as many of the stretch goals as they can get ready.

i am fairly confident they will at least have the base sets ready for us in august.

Why not earlier? They've said in the kickstarter page info: "For European Backers, we WILL BE SHIPPING FROM WITHIN THE EU."...

First step to recovery is admitting you have a problem.

And don't feel bad.
I backed DDD, Karez, and Purge.

easy, they want to ship everything at the same time. Otherwise the shipping costs will become HUGE unless you want to pay even more for it?. And to get everything ready it takes a few months. Ok the games will be ready at gencon, but the stretch goals and add-ons won't.

In the various photos, I see Lavamen, Void Hounds, female doctor and bandido, and both Jargono Tribal heroes. Some of those are add-ons rather than stretch goals, but none are in the core sets.

Hopefully that's an indication that August will include more than just the base games. I think there is also a Targa Custodian in one of the pictures, although it looks like a prototype.

There's a difference between prototypes and actual manufacturing.

Yes, I believe that most of the minis will have to be assembled/glued together. The minis were meant to be painted and based (like 40k), not just used out of the box (like descent). On the flip side for those who don't like modeling, the minis are far more detailed and better quality than descent.

Ugh... yuck!

I don't mind some trivial assembly, like snapping the wings onto the dragons in Heroscape. But I will be pretty irritated if I have to glue anything.

I certainly hope you're wrong about the bases too. Where have they mentioned that the minis won't have attached bases? I haven't seen or heard this before, and frankly I find it hard to believe.

I REALLY hope there is minimal assembly. I walked away from 40k for that exact reason. Clip from the sprue, scrape mold lines. Piece together 7 pieces for one tiny guy. Play carefully so they don't break. No way. I'm a backer and will be very unhappy.

i hope people are not too disappointed but what did you expect when FFP said they were going to be in line with hobby miniatures? i thought they made that quite clear during the campaign.

i myself fully expect some gluing and maybe even some sprue trimming.
