The HLC on the Shuttle really helps the 0 maneuver-hang back and pot shot plan. The FCS has been helping too but I came to the realization last night that the Engine Upgrade on the Shuttle is very circumstantially good without Advanced Sensors. The 2 hard turn is a red maneuver and pulling the 135(ish) degree turn is not possible.

Here are the reworking options I have been considering:

-Engine Upgrade (4)
+Seismic Charges (2)
+Seismic Charges (2)

Fully abandoning the hard turn plan, hoping to keep everyone in front of the Shuttle as long as possible. Adding the seismic charges as extra, no action damage that is especially helpful vs swarms and other low PS lists.

-Heavy Laser Cannon (7)
-Fire-Control System (2)

+Rebel Captive (3)
+Recon Specialist (3)
+Advanced Sensors (3)

Abandoning the Cannon and FCS for the maneuverability kit and some crew upgrades to either equip on the shuttle on split between the BHs. I would ideally have two Recons over the Captive but I only have one HWK.

-Engine Upgrade (4)
+Darth Vader (3)

I am not totally convinced that putting Vader on a loaded up Shuttle is a great idea but he certainly would help more than the Engine Upgrade for the occasional extra crit. This change puts the list at 99 points for an initiative bid.

Or something totally different? There are tons of ideas I could try. The Trelix-Cannon would take up 10 of the 13 upgrade points. Any thoughts?

I wish I had more time to test out lists but I am packing up for a tournament tomorrow and would like to be prepared (at least a little bit).

I tried another version first where the Shuttle also had a recon specialist in addition to an Ion Cannon.
As you can see I'm very fond of the Recon Specialist. It's really good value for 3 points and helps with both attacking and defending and that's pretty important in a 3-ship build imo.

I don't really see the sense in seismic charges on a ship with a low pilot skill. More often than not you're not going to hit anything with it.

Its' going to depend totally on how someone is intending to play but:

The shuttle central and the BH flanking. The shuttle is the peice I'm expecting/hoping to lose first after having (ideally) created a mess out in centre. The flanking BH just add a little security/deterant from/to rear attack having the seismic charges. So even if not using them they make your opponent think twice about trying to get in behind the shuttle/BHs.

I'm not sure having init is such a big deal for this squad; I'd rather keep the seismic charges and lose the hull upgrade since that 24pt shuttle is doing to die really quickly anyway, and that gift of points to your opponent should be as small as possible.

Against swarms, double seismic charges will discourage your opponent from engaging you at very close range, and if you do crash into one or more ships, chances are they'll have a very hard time avoiding a follow-up seismic charge. It's for control, not necessarily for damage.

I run a list I call the Bounty CowBoys:

The shuttle does it's Vader thing, keeping things in sight as long as possible with 1-stops and opportunistic bumps while the Firesprays light up whatever the Shuttle is about to hit so the crit does more damage. Sometimes I drop the Recon/Seismic combo for Gunners on one or both of the firesprays.

Of course, AG7 just posted the same squad, so there's two advocates for it

Also, negroscuro, all of your squads are more than 100 points...
