Aesthetics can almost be as important as gameplay to some players, and the recent art update looks beautiful.

http://www.alderac.com/doomtown/2014/03/26/doomtown-art-kevi...

Well...'beautiful' is an odd term to describe a somewhat horrifying looking pint-sized one-eyed carnie, but you get the gist.

Hoping these art updates become a regular thing!

Doomtown has a long and glorious history of heavily referencing specific other properties. Almost the entire old game is built on the back of the film The Quick and The Dead, for example.

I for one would love to see that continue.

Wasn't the bullet hole the ONLY thing good in that movie? It was almost 20 years since it came out, so I might be remembering it wrong...

goes and watches it again

Ok, so I watched The Quick and the Dead again. Holy shit this movie's awesome!! And I can definetly see how someone might think to create a game inspired by it. Extremely psyched for the release of Doomtown now

3:10 Yuma isn't too bad

Open Range has one of the longest gunfights in any western movie

Classic gunfights like the standoff in The Good The Bad and the Ugly or Charles bronson vs the 3 guys at the train statiopn in Once Upon Time in the West will always be cool

And my favourite ever... The OK Corral fight from Tombstone.
