---

The next session of the Orleans Game Group will be held on Thursday April 3rd, 2014!

Bring your new games, or knock the dust off of some of your old ones! laugh

We usually start just after 6:30 and go 'til about 10:00pm.

The address is: The Canadian Legion, Branch 632 - Orleans, 800 Taylor Creek Road.

We meet upstairs. There is a bar and snacks and now hot food is also sometimes available so please don't bring in something from outside.

You should also bring $2.00 as a donation for the Legion.

Also, please thumb up this post to move it to the boardgamegeek front page to attract more gamers and tell your friends to come out and play!

Please note that hats are not allowed in the Legion and that one must dress and act respectfully.

You can see our schedule as well as other local gamers nights via the Ottawa Area Gamers Guild's Calendar on BGG - click here -> http://www.boardgamegeek.com/guild/199

so I had thought puerto rico was a "shorter long game" - like 1.5 hrs. Our 4 player game was more like 2.5 so that was all I got in last night at our table. I did head out a little early so I think the others were playing some filler games for the last half hr (hey thats my fish?)

Hhhhm let's see.

We started the night off with a quick and disastrous run at Escape: The Curse of the Temple with Jason supervising our demise zombie

Matter of fact - it went so badly shake that we did it again - this time as a better co-ordinated group. We almost all got out quickly cool save for Bob who seemed to have turned himself around... but thankfully our with our urgings (ok screaming at him) managed to get himself out just as the whole temple fell down behind him surprise

So after having tempted fate and come away 50/50 we decided to push our luck with Pandemic... we knew we were in trouble from the start. Six cards drawn and we already have an Epidemic, twenty cards in another yuk, and then another gulp... The game ended extremely quickly and needless to say, we lost soblue

So of course we had to push our luck again as Jamie pulled out his Flash Point: Fire Rescue - wisely for us, we had someone who had not played it before so we played the Family Game version (without all the nasties like Hazardous Material and FlashPoints).

Jamie could do no wrong on the Deck Gun and had amazingly put ALL the fires out within the first two rounds... Things were going so smoothly that he actually started to ignore the fires that were restarting and just worked on getting the Points of Interest (POI) rescued.

By the time we had rescued the requisite 7 real POIs and 6 fake there was a huge conflagration in the centre of the building and of course we decided we should try for a perfect rescue of 10 real POI's...

Naturally all three appeared amongst the conflagration, followed by several major explosions.... we only managed to save one more and lost two angry

All in all 50/50 for the night

And then came King of Tokyo... or maybe it was before Pandemic.... Anyways, since there was only four of us, it was a quick game with Bob pulling off the victory (pay back for getting lost in the temple? whistle )

I think there must have been some time vortex thingies flying around the legion last night --- I'm still stunned at the number of games that we got in - especially compared to the number Darcy managed LOL laugh

A great time was had by all I think - thanks for coming out! meeplemeeple
