Hey all, looking for a social game for my mum that is light on rules and components.

She isn't a gamer, but enjoys setting questions or topics of discussions for dinner parties, so some kind of light game that would be fun for her and friends when entertaining would be great.

I'm thinking particularly trivia-type games, or something like Articulate would be good, but ideally even lighter. I've thought about Cranium (she has an art background so the sculpting and drawing bits would go down well) but I think it's probably too much of a traditional 'board game.'

Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

Thanks
Tori

Are you thinking about a lot of players or is 4 enough?

My mother-in-law loves Indigo, Takenoko and Alhambra. She's also interested in Fresco, but feels that's a bit too difficult

How about Wits & Wagers? Seems like it would go over well.

Timeline: Historical Events

Or any of the Timeline games. I've seen this game go over very well with groups of non-gamers

I play games not to win, it's the gathering that's important - Thanks for the tip Cate108!

I honestly think that Dixit (or any from the series) would be perfect for your mom and her friends.

I find that after the storyteller announced which is his/her card, it creates an interesting discussion and laughable moments. Take a look.
