Just wondering if this plays any part in this game as it did in Quarriors.

You probably don't need it since your dice can sit around outside of your bag waiting to be used. Effectively culled, but they can still help you in the endgame.

It isnt a mechanic used yet, but you could just save all your sidekics that are cast , never block with them so you never have to roll them again

I think that would be a very good thing to add though.

By fielding dice, you are effectively culling them. Remember, once fielded, you can just leave them there (they aren't forced to attack, or do anything). So once you get some good dice in your bag, keep fielding sidekicks, then you'll be more likely to draw into your good dice.

Yeah, seems like you can effectively cull sidekicks by fielding them.

You act as if the designers didn't even think of this.

They did.
They're very aware of it.
They explicitly did not include it.

As a matter of fact, there's a rule for when you can't draw 4 dice... which means this happened, a lot.

If people end up short on dice to draw, they take damage and gain generic energy.

If people are running out of dice to roll WITHOUT CULLING... is it actually a good thing to include?

No, it's not
