The new format is now available!

Current standings available on the D-Day Dice league blog site: http://ddaydiceleague.blogspot.com/

The player scores from the old system are shown in the new chart.

If you want to join the league or want to submit some new scores send me a PM and I'll get you your own score chart. Each player has their own to use.

Here's a screen shot of how it generally looks on the blog site:

And what your map record sheet looks like:

If you want to go directly to the league standings chart you may do so here:https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1kpbL2KvX7LBN9Q5aPxK8...
There you can select individual maps to see the details of each players performance.

________________________________________________________________________

You have just been promoted to Field Commander for the critical mission of storming the beaches of Normandy. Ready your troops. Prepare your equipment. Brief your specialists. It's time to kick the krauts right in their keister.
-------------------------------

I'd like to see if I can get a solo league going. Basically all you do is submit your results after a solo victory and compare yourself with others. This league will follow the base game rules plus the optional 'solitaire' rule only. Scoring is based on the rulebook:

Victory 40
Last Sector x10
Soldiers remaining x1
Courage remaining x2
Specialist remaining x3
Awards earned x10

*Plus League Achievements:
Methodical Assault 20-5
Blitz Assault 20-5

*This league will also feature two other achievements- which I would like input on.
Methodical Assault: you traversed through every, or the max, sectors for that map. 20 points scaling.
Blitz Assault: you defeated the bunker in the minimum number of moves. 20 points scaling.

Scaling means the first and only one to do this gets 20 points. Then the point value drops by 5 per person that also does it. Neither can drop lower than 5. This system is simply a way of indicating that this achievement may not be a big deal if others are doing it but yet giving a reward for still doing it.

This league also asks you to keep track of the sectors you traverse through and in what order. This way we can see which path you took to victory. This is optional if you don't want to reveal it. However, if you claim you achieved a Methodical or Blitz Assault you must list the sectors.

I hope I can get several to join and we can have fun with this.
---------------------------------------------

Here's a great play log, by Barry Miller(bgm1961), to fill out your results prior to entering them in the league results, or for your own records: http://boardgamegeek.com/filepage/90384/missionsgames-played...

Well, the last entry was just entered last month so I hope it's still going on. Maybe with a bit of forum chatter the subject will draw in a few more people.

Any chance of expanding the ruleset to include more than just the base game? Just curious.

Weird, I never got notices that anyone was posting here. I'll have to check my subscription.

I only see submissions from banjoman. Have either of you entered yours in?

We have a new leader, and player, for Exercise Tiger, TomB66. Methodical assault scaled down to 15 points with two players achieving it.

Has entered the league. He's got two maps defeated and has the exclusive achievement of the blitz assault on Omaha beach.

I don't know anything about that expansion. Where is it available? I'll add it but I'd need to know the names of the maps and how many sectors there are in case the form doesn't include that sector number

You can find it mostly on Ebay or in little online stores; the price at the URL there is $11.28.

It has four maps. Gold Beach II (Battle Map N-15) with 13 sectors.
Operation Tonga (Battle Map N-16) with 15 sectors
Pegasus Bridge (Battle Map N-17) with 14 sectors.
and Mission Chicago (Battle Map N-18) with 17 sectors and two bunkers.

There's not a section for it, but I just beat Gold Beach II (from the Normandy expansion) with 306 points.

Started in sector 1, moved to 2, 5, 4, 6, 7, 8, 11, 13, and then the Bunker. Finished with 64 soldiers, 2 courage, 6 specialists, and 5 awards. This was a tough map. It took me a few tries to beat this one.

Again, no section for it, but (after two tries), I finally defeated Operation Tonga (from the D-Day Dice: Normandy expansion) with 19 soldiers, zero courage, 5 specialists, 4 awards, 9 tool points, and 1 star, for 264 VP.

I started in sector 1, went through sectors 4, 6, 7, 8, 11, 13, 15 and finally attacked the bunker.

Ok you Normandy expansion folks need to make a high quality scan of the map so we can print n play it... please?

Well unless it's easy to find then perhaps we should buy it ourselves.

I was watching "Band of Brothers" this week, and was inspired by the show to try the Brecourt Manor map [Battle Map N-14] from Operation Neptune because it was featured in the film. Wow. That was the longest session I have ever recorded. It took me 42 turns, but I prevailed with 365 Victory Points (per standard rules), using a Methodical Assault (hit every sector), which for League purposes gives me an extra 20 pts, giving me 385 VP.

I started in Sector 2, moved to sector 1, then to 3, took out the first gun in sector 4, went to sector 5, took out the second gun in sector 8, went through sectors 3 and 7 to take out the gun in sector 6. Traveled through 10, 11, then 14, and took out the fourth gun in 13. Went to sector 12, up to sector 15, then sector 16 and finally took out the bunker.

No, but it has four guns you have to take out before you get to the bunker... and it uses the A Few Good Men rule (you only get 1/2 the men you normally would for rolls and awards).

Played Mission Albany from D-Day Dice: Operation Neptune, Battle Map N-12. Defeated it with 279 VP. Started in a Sector 2 (random) and had to adjust my original approach because I had to sacrifice my paratrooper early in order to survive a particularly nasty bit of machine gun fire, so I had to bypass Sector 10, which required a paratrooper in the unit, and go up through Sector 13 & 16, instead of my original plan of going up through Sector 14 & 17.

This map has random start locations (which would make a methodical assault problematic if you don't start out in sector 1), but if you have seen Band of Brothers, you might recall the randomness of their own landings in this location (Ste-Marie-du-Mont) for Mission Albany. This battle map replicates that very well.

Hey guys I'm going to redo the way we enter our scores. I'm going to make a google sheet document that will be your own sheet. You enter your results and that will feed into a master sheet for all to view. We'll see how quickly I can get those made and working.

Thanks for the thumbs but then again maybe I'm not. There's some issues I've run into with this attempt.

For now I just updated the score entry form to include all 18 maps and the 2 NX maps. (are there any more?)
