Got this link a while ago from an acquaintance who lives in Florida. Feel free to start your own thread about the legitimacy of news from aggregates that are left/right leaning. News is news whether a libtard or conservotard reports it.

Nonetheless, I received a few unasked for emails in my inbox, one of which acknowledges I am an "account holder" even though I never managed to get the web site to progress past the verification link. Essentially, what the article I'm linking says is that there is a suspicion that the masters at healthcare.gov just auto-enrolled people they were aware of and who, per the law, would have to enroll anyway. If that's true, even to the tune of a few thousand, much less a few hundred thousand or million nationwide, then this is not good news. For anyone.

Auto-enrolled in ObamaCare?

I know that several states auto-enrolled people that were on state benefit programs and below the income level for Medicaid. This happened from the beginning and is not a secret. What makes this bad for everyone?

What the hell flavor is orange soda?

No orange has ever tasted like that.

Yet it is now the accepted flavor of orange - candy, soda, medicine.

Its not oranges at all.

Thanks, Obama.

Ditto for cherry. Although frankly I much prefer the taste of, say, cherry Jolly Ranchers to actual cherries, so I'm not complaining.

No, banana is bad, but I can't stand lime or lemon flavoring. That's the worst. Every bag of skittles or pack of starburst I've ever had has been half wasted because I throw out the yellow and green ones.

Sorry, but when I see tripp talk about something like this, esp. with the word "troubling" my first thought is of Matthew 7:3.

It's just hard to take it seriously.

It is too nebulous to dispute at this point. I don't dispute that people are casting about for anything to be upset about concerning the ACA.

I've already looked for stories debunking this one. Didn't find any and trust me, if any of the Libtards here had any this thread would be a field of blue HTML links, pie charts, dot graphs, .pdf quotes and videos.

But it's not. So there's your answer.

There are all kinds of things wrong with the ACA. It's a terrible law. Jumping at shadows and desperately fishing for scandal doesn't really help, though. Without knowing the details of what sort of information passed between agencies and whether or not people gave their permission (probably unintentionally if they did, fast-clicking through TOS or some such) for that transmission, I can't say this is something I care about nearly as much as the fact that they couldn't get anywhere near the number of enrollments they needed to make this thing function correctly or the fact that the law does nothing to slow the out-of-control rise of healthcare.

Or to put it another way, if all HHS is doing here is the same thing that those companies that try to sell extended auto warranties or pre-approved credit cards do--purchasing information about potential customers and bombarding them with spam in the hopes to catch a few in the net--then I think it's desperate, clumsy marketing, but not unethical. If they're actually exchanging information beyond name/demographics, family size, and medicare qualification (all information you could buy yourself if you were interested) then there's a scandal here and a legitimate news organization will pick up on it. If not, if it's just run-of-the-mill shotgun marketing, then I don't really care other than to say it's another sign of how miserably the proponents of the ACA failed to market it effectively to the American people.

Of course I never said one way or the other if I think this is credible. Just that I got a link from a friend in Florida and if there is truth to it then it's serious.

I'll disagree on one thing though Dave, since this is a law and designed to punish people with fines if they fail to comply, then it would be a serious ethical breach and scandal even if you prefer to portray it as clumsy marketing. It's not marketing if it's a law.

I looked at the dramatic rise in enrollment numbers just in the last three days of March and it raised alarms for me. How were all these people getting enrolled? I failed in December and in January and I started again the last week of March. I made one attempt every day until last Saturday and then I made no less than three attempts per day and I spent over 45 minutes on hold twice while simultaneously trying to reset passwords or otherwise get my account verified. Sunday, when I called, the answering recording simply said call back in April and disconnected. I was a bit stunned so I called back... same result.

Since all this is anecdotal it of course means nothing... except to those who are pro-ACA,and to them it means I'm full of shit. But the fact is, I've always had health care insurance and I want it again. I've paid easily over $100,000 in my life for insurance for my family(s) and despite feeling pretty much the same as you do about ObamaCare, I want health care insurance and I followed, to a "T", the instructions to get it. And it was never offered to me. Which I find weird, because I'd be another tick in the plus column, wouldn't I?

So that means something else happened and I don't know what it was. But I do know that a "last minute" balloon of over 2 million successful enrollees during the same time frame I couldn't even get a phone call in, much less a form filled out... and then sudden, victory at the finish line! That raises all kinds of questions about numbers from an administration that has already, in RSP, by Libtards, been acknowledged as more than willing to lie in order to get what they want.

Of all the shit I have read in RSP this is by far the most offensive. Lemon is the BEST candy fruit flavor. THE BEST!
