The Library of Congress has a blog that I subscribe to. Earlier this week the following article appeared on the blog discussing board games in their collections. There is not too much information, but I find the pictures and games to be fun. They also give some instructions as to searching for more games, I haven't gone through the whole collection yet.

The Road to Washington looks like an early train-ish game.

The Mansion of Happiness - The rules are interesting to read. Beware of Idleness, it will lead you to poverty! And the Cheat loses a turn and has to start over. I think the Whipping Post may have been a more suitable punishment, especially if the Cheat is a board game Cheat

Do any modern games use teetotums anymore?
