...Oh boy. Can anyone confirm whether two base lengths plus a Forward 1 template fits within the space of one of these cells?

Because if so, we might have a problem with fleets of Mirandas holding station inside them.

I've played through this one already with Teri. There is just enough room for a ship to fly out of the web on the end...but in reality if you get stuck in the web your ship is probably dead. If you run into the web and don't have a reverse on your dial, your ship is done. The scenario is a lot of fun, but maneuverability will be key here. Ships like the Enterprise-D with her wide turns will not do well later game as the table shrinks.

No penalty on firing through the web, right? Outside of the 'being treated as an obstacle' thing?

Seems like everyone would want to fly the Borg for this one. Best way to control your movements.

Quantum Singularity might be a good pick for other ships.

sure wish we had a Tholian ship spoiler. Are they even featured in the op or just the lines?

Depends - if the web lines count as obstacles for limiting where the ship can re-enter the map...that might be problematic.

Not necessarily given the requirement to replace the model outside range 3 of enemy ships.

That would be a problem. Not as much of a problem as flying Jem'Hadar BBs, Keldons, or Galors would be. Playing any Dominion ship besides the attack bug in this scenario would be suicidal.

Breen ships might be able to handle it as will the Heideki fighters. Granted, the Dominion will have an uphill battle but Suicide Attack might be fun to use in this scenerio.

My apologies if I'm misunderstanding you, but the rules for the scenario state "Energy Lines are considered to be the edge of the play area." This seems to preclude any line-hopping tactics.

It looks like it says whenever you go to spend a battlestations token you may discard this card instead of spending the battlestations token.

Nice little 2 point Elite Talent card

I see the instruction sheet says "Players may choose from among any available Resources", so Dominion War resources are fair game.

A few teensy tiny hints can be gleaned about the Tholian ship from the contents:

3 Tholian Starship Pre-painted Plastic Ships. Each ship includes:
1 Plastic Base (with 2 Plastic Pegs)
1 Maneuver Dial (dial, faceplate and 2 connectors)
10 Cards with
2 Ship Cards
1 Maneuver Card
2 Captain Cards
3 Upgrade Cards
2 Reference Cards
6 Token Sheets with
4 Captain ID Tokens
1 Ship Token
4 Action Tokens
1 Critical Hit Token
1 Auxiliary Power Token
2 Shield Tokens
1 Disabled Upgrade Token
10 EWT Tokens and 2 Guide Tokens

- So we'll get one captain plus the usual generic. No big surprise there.
- 4 Action Tokens probably means Target Lock, Evade, and either scan or BS
- 2 Shields (I think we already knew this)
- An upgrade that requires disabling (web generator?)
- Reference cards probably explain the web spinning
- Comes with an Aux token, so it probably has at least one red maneuver

In other news, if your venue still plays with cloaked mines, this may be an event you want to ban them for.

Bah, I love seeing cloaked mine lists. Easy pickings! You can just fly right through them - unmodified attack dice are *terribly* weak. Now, ANTIMATTER mines with Scottie? *Those* are brutal...

Still, this does seem somewhat like an event that any kind of mine will be disproportionately effective in.

Really excited for Tholian ships but they do seem really card light. 3 upgrade cards total? Granted they didn't have much show time. I hope those are some sweet cards and somehow their web mechanic can be played without just the OP.

Yeah, they have 3 upgrades. All the previous prize ships have had 4. I don't know if that makes this ship "really" light, though.

What caught my attention was the resource. A new Maneuver template. I wonder how it will work?

Imagining the Jem'Hadar Battleship suddenly making a Full About.
