we have a good proto here.

200+ playtest

latelty the only concerne of us is:

we have completely balance our game mecanic:

the problems its a 2-4 player

but we have 3 rounds.

4 round will make are game too long and will still gice the avantage to 1 players in a 3 player game.

Since in the rules the first player marker goes around clockwise.
there might be a possibility that 1 players will never goes first.
to balanc this probleme we intruduce bonus card at beggining of each round
player receive to bonus card and choose one. in those card there one card that make you first player automaticly.

what i should do

i can send you rules book if you want to see...its a 6 pages rulebook withh lots of illustration

thanks

sorry for my english

How much of an advantage is there to going first?

If you make being First Player a decision point (through an auction or selecting cards, for example), then it is fine when one player never goes first--they never decided they wanted it badly enough to receive it.

Trying to understand the problem here...

So you've made the 'first player' advantage one card in a set of bonus cards from which each player gets to pick one. But now you essentially have a similar problem, namely who gets to pick their bonus card first, and with 4 players one person will not get that privilege.

Do I understand that correctly?

Consider having a 4th round in a 4 player game.

specification:

in a four player game we play it in 45 min wich is great for a workplacement. having a fourt round unbalance completly the game...

there is four building and each building give you someting if you send worker but there a place in each of the building that give you a extra bonus. so there can be an advantage of going first.

bonus meeting card: we decide first player at beggining of the game by asking who the last player to eat in a restaurant . that player get first player marker.

before each turn 2 hidden meeting cards with different bonus are dealt to each player (8 cards total) players secretly pick one and discard the other one.

on one of this card player can pick the cards and use the power of becomming right away the first player ...so the player who was attribut the first player marker loose it.

at the end of that round the player you was first player(who won it with playing the card) give is first player marker to the player to his left

at the beggining of the other 2 round the meeting bonus card are shuffle and re distribute again so its possible to have a new first player.

Why not let the other three players have an extra card or something that benefits then for not getting to go first?

That sounds like you're simply randomly determining who goes first, since the cards are dealt randomly. Instead, consider having 4 cards that are open instead of distributed randomly. Players may choose their bonuses in reverse player order (insuring the last player from the round before gets first shot at going first).

Or, have 6 to 8 open (instead of random) bonuses and require that the player turns in his previous power, which he cannot choose again until bonuses are chosen once more. Since start player is a bonus, that leaves it open for the next player to choose it from the bonus cards.

Perhaps you can quantify the advantage of going first and give an equivalent special ability to the player who never goes first.

Or bonuses each round to those who aren't going first. Then the player in a 4 player game who doesn't go first would get 3 bonuses, where everyone else (who at some point got to go first) gets 2 bonuses.

This is already done by giving player-chosen bonuses. Plus, choice is always better than arbitration.

I agree with Aaron. And Jared has a similar idea.

There are other games where selecting player order is one of the many worker-placement-choices.

But then theoretically the player who chose to go first in the first round could also choose to go first in the third. That sounds like a problem the designer wants to avoid.

Yes, but that player also chose not to get a bonus (aside from being first).
