Jeez. I don't know what I did to deserve this, but I fell right into the side of "omg this quest is impossible". I'm now down to easy mode, and have moved to playing with one player hand... I think I've tried four times, each time I can fly through quickly to ... well, my death. I was doing tactics+leadership first, then I tried tactics+spirit, now at one player I'm doing spirit only... but I can get to stage 2 but at that point since I can't get any enemies dead, I inevitably die (and frodo helps survive the archery six that just has a way of being there right away, but then my threat is insane!)

Suggestions?

Of course I've been up all night! Not because of caffeine, it was insomnia. I couldn't stop thinking about coffee.

You could try this build. I had no trouble at all using this deck but I only played the scenario twice so I might have been lucky.

Playing solo, this seemed one of the easier ones to me. But you have to have healing! Don't let more than one enemy sit in the staging area, or that archery can multiply too fast to keep up with.
It does take a balanced deck to be sure: Healing to keep up with archery, attack to get through their tough skins, and tons defense and willpower at the end.
I would rely on Lore to keep you alive long enough to get to the end.

I just got crushed again, using this deck http://hallofbeorn.wordpress.com/2013/06/02/deck-masters-of-...

An archery 5 (for the second time) did me in.

I'll try that deck you mentioned next, Jon... what a scenario for me, it's this helpless feeling rather than the "wow this is tough"... we'll see.

That thread's deck did it! PHEW. Thx for the link.

edit: memorable moment, having archery EIGHT to dish out... then realizing that Beorn could take five of those for me

Excellent! Glad to hear that you got a win
I've really come to love that deck. It's a lot of fun to play.
