I'm thinking that the Portuguese Surrender rule in the Peninsular War campaigns in Volume III could without much difficulty be used in other campaign scenarios where there are ethnic units of questionable loyalty fighting for a major power. Besides the Portuguese example there were also Polish, Finnish and Lithuanian units in the Russian army, Hungarians fighting for Austria; Hanoverians, Brunswickers, Nassauers and Dutch-Belgians serving the British cause in 1815, Saxons in the service of Prussia in 1806(who have their own surrender rule, I believe)and numerous satellite states under the French banner. The right conditions would have to be met in each case, of course, but this could add an interesting wrinkle to the system.
